More than 200 first editions on display, from 19th-century modern illustrations to contemporary designPOSCO Art Museum is holding the special exhibition "A World on a Page: 100 Years of Picture Books" through July 26. As the largest picture-book archive exhibition in Korea, it presents more than 200 first editions spanning 19th-century modern illustrations to contemporary graphic design.

Works by masters such as Kate Greenaway, Paul Rand and Bruno Munari on viewThe exhibition includes Kate Greenaway's first picture book, "Under the Window" (first edition, 1879), along with works by Walter Crane and Randolph Caldecott, three leading figures of the golden age of British picture books.

It also features Bruno Munari's "Zoo" (first edition, 1945) and "The Story of the Three Little Birds" (first edition, 1945), as well as Paul Rand's "Sparkle and Spin" (first edition, 1957), the designer of the IBM and UPS logos.

An opportunity to experience the unique materiality and aesthetic origins of first editionsBuilt around first editions, the exhibition offers visitors a chance to experience the artistic originals that preserve the author's intent and the aesthetic sensibilities of the time. Visitors can see firsthand the paper texture unique to first editions, the color density created by different printing methods, and the format and binding styles.

A touring exhibition at Pohang POSCO Gallery and POSCO Art Museum Gwangyang is planned for the second half of the yearIn the second half of the year, the exhibition will also tour Pohang POSCO Gallery and POSCO Art Museum Gwangyang, expanding cultural engagement with local communities.

Exhibition hours and permanent works informationThe museum is open free of charge on the basement first floor of POSCO Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Visiting hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will be closed on June 3, June 6, June 29 and July 17.

Permanent installations inside and outside the building include "Cheol-i Cheol-cheol" (1995), a collaboration between Nam June Paik and Shigeko Kubota, Frank Stella's "Flowering Structure - Amabel" (1997), and Lee Lee Nam's "Iron's Four Seasons - Bakseon Waterfall" (2020).
