The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 15th that it will appoint Mok Seung-hwan, CEO of Seoul National University's technology holding company, as the head of the start-up venture innovation office. Mok Seung-hwan, the new head of the department, is considered a "technology start-up expert" by discovering start-up companies based on technology in the school's laboratory and generating technology start-up results. Venture capital and accelerator sites were also used.
An official from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups said, "Based on Mok Seung-hwan's expertise in start-ups and ventures, key policies such as fostering deep-tech start-ups and leaping into the four major venture powers will gain stronger momentum in the field," adding, "We will accelerate the creation of a 'everyone's start-up' ecosystem where the whole nation freely challenges innovation."
