Ecopro announced on the 10th that it had held a shipping ceremony for its high nickel NCA (nickel, cobalt, and aluminum) products supplied to Europe at its plant in Debrecen, Hungary, on the 8th (local time).
The event was attended by Choi Moon-ho, CEO of EcoProvim, Ha Joo-yong, president of EcoProvim Hungary, and executives and employees of EcoProvim Hungary. The Debrecen plant in Hungary, which is about 440,000 square meters, houses EcoproBM, which produces cathode materials, Ecoproinnovation, which is responsible for lithium processing, and EcoproAP, which produces industrial oxygen and nitrogen.
Three cathode material production lines at the Debrecen plant produce a total of 54,000 tons per year. This is large enough to supply about 600,000 electric vehicles. EcoPro Innovation-dong supplies 8,000 tons of lithium hydroxide per year, and EcoPro AP-dong supplies 16,000㎥ of oxygen per hour. EcoproBM plans to gradually expand production, starting with supplies this early in the year.
In addition, Ecopro plans to consider building a second plant in consideration of the order situation comprehensively. When the second plant is completed, the production capacity of the Debrecen plant in Hungary is expected to more than double compared to the present. We will maximize the benefits of European regulatory policy based on our preemptively established Hungarian production base and solid raw material supply chain, said Ha Joo-yong, head of EcoproBM's Hungarian unit.
