The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business announced on the 18th that it will hold the "2026 Daejeon-Sejong Vietnam Business Partnership Matching Day" event in Hanoi, Vietnam, where 14 small and medium-sized companies based in Daejeon and Sejong will participate until the 19th.

This event has been held every year since 2019 to support the export expansion of local SMEs. It is co-hosted by Daejeon Metropolitan City and Sejong Special Self-Governing City, and organized by the Daejeon Job Promotion Agency, the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses, and TJB Daejeon Broadcasting. A total of 14 companies participated this year, including nine in Daejeon and five in Sejong.

The event will be held in Hanoi, the center of administration and economy, in consideration of the rapid economic growth of northern Vietnam. Hanoi, Vietnam, has recently recorded a high economic growth rate of 7% to 8% per year, and the consumption power of the middle class is rapidly increasing. Accordingly, Hanoi is expected to become a key hub for domestic SMEs to develop new markets and diversify their exports.

At the event, one-on-one customized business matching will be held with participating SMEs and buyers. In addition, trademark registration and dispute response lectures (Sejong, a law firm) will also be held. After the event, the ASEAN office of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, located in Hanoi, plans to continue to support participating companies' entry into the local market.

Kim Hee-joong, head of the economic policy division of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, said, "As 14 companies' consultation performance in Ho Chi Minh City reached $15.625 million last year, the response to Korean small and medium-sized business products such as K-beauty is hot and the business performance is good in Vietnam," adding, "As favorable conditions such as cross-visit between the leaders of the two countries are being prepared recently, we will work closely with local governments to expand exports to small and medium-sized companies."
