Hansol Home Deco announced on the 29th that it has jointly developed a "PET (polyethylene terephthalate) interior film" with Toray Advanced Materials.
Despite the advantage of being eco-friendly, PET material interior films used in food packaging containers and PET bottles have difficulty in construction such as curved surfaces or right-angled corners due to their unique hard properties.
To solve this problem, the two companies conducted a two-year joint study and developed a new flexible PET interior film using a composite material that combines PET with TPEE (thermoplastic polyester elastomer). It also improved the convenience of on-site construction by applying an adhesive technology optimized for PET materials on the back of the interior film. The PET interior film developed this time will be applied to Hansol Home Deco's "Hansol Story Film" solid line. It is developed with the same material and pattern as the surface material of Hansol Home Deco's furniture material, Hansol Storyboard.
"By jointly developing innovative material solutions with Hansol Home Deco, we will lead a new paradigm needed for the next generation of interior finishing materials," said an official from Toray Advanced Materials. An official from Hansol Home Deco said, "We have worked hard to give color unity with existing Hansol storyboards by jointly developing Toray Advanced Materials and PET interior films."
