EcoproBM has specified the timing that it will start mass production of solid electrolytes as early as next year.
On the 19th, EcoProBM announced that it unveiled such a full value chain roadmap for all-solid batteries at a corporate briefing for general investors held at NH Investment & Securities headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul on the 16th.
Sulfide-based solid electrolytes are core materials for all-solid batteries, and EcoproBM has been developing them four years ago. Regarding the development of solid electrolytes, Gong Bo-hyun, executive director of EcoProBM R&D, said, "We are currently reviewing major customers and Xiyangsan, and we expect the earliest mass production time to be 2027." "Since we started development four years ago, we are currently operating a pilot plant with an annual capacity of 40 tons after optimizing the process and composition, and the products produced here have passed quality verification by major battery companies," he added.
EcoproBM is developing solid electrolytes and simultaneously developing cathode materials for solid electrolytes suitable for this. In addition, next-generation battery materials such as LMR (cobalt-free manganese rich) cathode materials, sodium ion battery cathode materials, and high-capacity silicon cathode materials are also being developed. Gong explained, "As the number of requests for review by new customers increases, we are developing product diversification to meet the required performance."
