Global Technology (GT), an LED-powered IC (LDI)-based system semiconductor fabless company, announced on the 21st that it received preliminary approval for listing on KOSDAQ from the Korea Exchange the previous day.
GT, along with Korea Investment & Securities, the organizer of the listing, is expected to launch the IPO process in earnest with the aim of listing on the KOSDAQ within this year.
GT is a system semiconductor fabless company that simultaneously has IC design, ultra-small package (PKG), and micro module technology using LDI as its core technology.
Based on the two original technologies of △ low-power and constant-current IC design △ ultra-small micro-packaging and modularization, it has rapidly expanded its business area from displays to automotive semiconductor markets.
The company's main business consists of four key areas: △ LED driving IC (LDI) △ transparent LED display △ Micro LED IC and module △ System Semiconductor (SAL and CAN) for automobiles.
It has already secured top-tier customers, including S company (VD primary partner), L company, and H company. Its flagship product, LDI, exceeded 200 million cumulative deliveries.
A company official said, "GT has secured LDI Uncheon technology, proven reference, and snowball-type sales structure, breaking the stereotype that LEDs are a non-growing specification industry."
Recently, light sources are evolving from LCD to Mini LED, RGB LED, and Micro LED. As a result, the number of LDI applications per set is also increasing rapidly.
In fact, up to 800 LDI per set is applied to Mini LED TVs and up to 1500 LDI is applied to RGB LED TVs. It is explained that only one product development leads to accumulated sales dozens to hundreds of times.
In line with the spread of on-device AI, LDI is expanding not only to the existing display market but also to high value-added vehicle system semiconductors.
In particular, GT succeeded in securing cost-cutting competitiveness while maintaining high-definition and low-power characteristics through 'RGB time-division driving technology'.
Based on the technology, we are conducting joint verification with Company S and Automobile M. It is promoting major TV companies including Hisense, TCL, Xiaomi, and BOE in China.
The company's sales grew to 21.9 billion won in 2023, 25.7 billion won in 2024, and 29.7 billion won in 2025. In the first half of this year, the proportion of LDI sales, which is its own product, increased, showing growth close to the annual performance level of the previous year for the first half of this year.
GT CEO Kim Min-sun said, "The company has secured a price advantage in the Chinese market with its expandability to apply LDI and RGB time division driving technology due to the evolution of light sources."
