Taerim Packaging announced on the 23rd that it has published a 2025 version of the "Sustainable Management Report."
The report includes major achievements in all areas of environmental (E), social (S) and governance (G) achieved by Taerim Packaging in 2025, as well as ESG strategies and implementations of Taerim Packaging, such as responding to climate change, developing eco-friendly products, and managing supply chains.
The environmental sector is centered on renewable energy conversion performance. Following Cheongwon Campus, Taerim Packaging has built solar power generation facilities at Sihwa Plant to produce a total of 9806 MWh of renewable energy per year, accounting for 23.2% of the total energy use. Taerim Packaging explains that clean electricity generation through renewable energy is expected to reduce greenhouse gas by about 2,639 tons per year. In addition, Taerim Packaging cooperated with E-Land Retail to produce 1.3 million eco-friendly corrugated cardboard boxes using solar power last year.
By developing packaging technology, production of eco-friendly products has also been advanced. Taerim Packaging's high-intensity lightweight cardboard boxes, which won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in April last year, reduced paper use by up to 20% compared to existing packaging materials, but strengthened their strength by 20%, simultaneously reducing resources and increasing logistics efficiency.
In addition, Taerim Packaging plans to expand its renewable energy-based production system by building solar power facilities in 80% of all businesses by 2028, and create a sustainable supply chain with customers by developing eco-friendly packaging solutions. An official from Taerim Packaging said, "We will continue to strengthen management that considers both environmental and social responsibility."
