The newly created OPEN LAB is designed to experience theory and practice together by utilizing basic electrical and electronic practice, basic education such as semiconductors, robots, smart factories, and physical AI, applied education, and educational equipment that allows testing of technicians and industrial engineers' certificates. Various education consumers, including students, teachers, employees, and companies, can freely visit to experience new technologies and receive practical-oriented education. The OPEN LAB opening ceremony was attended by Kim Young-seok, CEO of Omron Control Devices Korea, Lee Young-seok, dean of Seongnam Campus of Korea Polytechnic University, Yeo Byung-ryang, vice chairman of Seongnam Industrial Complex Management Corporation, as well as officials from education, industry and related organizations.
IEGLAB.COM is an online-based technology education platform that introduces video learning contents using equipment operating in actual industrial sites, as well as web-based simulation and VR learning contents. Trainees can learn ahead of time through videos and receive technical training using simulation and VR content.
IG plans to continuously expand educational programs in future industries based on the newly established integrated infrastructure. It also operates a certification acquisition process, teacher training, and job competency strengthening training for incumbent workers. Through cooperation with overseas educational institutions, we plan to spread Korean technical education contents to the world and actively promote entry into the global tech edu market.
