Lee Joon-seok (Hwaseong Dongtan, Gyeonggi Province, 39), a member of the Reform New Party, made a surprise guest appearance on actor Han Sun-hwa's YouTube channel "Curious Sunhwa" and revealed how he spends the lawmaker's salary of 11 million won.

On the 11th, Han Sun-hwa's YouTube channel "Curious Sun-hwa" posted a video titled "Talks Between Rice Cakes and Fall" starring Rep. Lee Joon-seok.

The video caption said, "The production team and Rep. Lee Joon-seok are close friends," signaling that Rep. Lee's appearance is related to the production team.

Lawmaker Lee said, "A few days ago, I also watched the movie 'Pilot' in which Han Sun-hwa came out. I originally like Jo Jung-seok. He did a lot of pleasant movies."

Han Seon-hwa said, "Can I call you Senator?" and added, "You're only five years apart from me. If you don't mind, then call me 'Sunhwa'." In response, Rep. Lee called it "Sunhwa" and made the atmosphere comfortable, saying, "Politicians do everything they ask."

As a friendly atmosphere was formed, Rep. Lee's full-fledged jokes and "Tiki-taka" followed.

Lawmaker Lee said a YouTube short video of his National Assembly remarks garnered 2.7 million views, and when he heard that the highest number of views among Han Seon-hwa's channel videos was 220,000, he said, "Shall we go to 3 million? I brought some alcohol and changed the title of the broadcast (channel name) to 'Hot Sunhwa'," he joked.

Han Seon-hwa laughed off, saying, "No."

Rep. Lee also revealed how he spends his monthly salary in the video. "(The salary) is about 1050, 1,100. Politicians have to spend that much because it's hard to get a meal from somewhere. I'm not even talking about anything great, but I have to eat it as a course meal from lunch. If you go around Yeouido, there are many restaurants that cost 2,900 won," he explained.

At the same time, "My original dream was to be a programmer. Then two people, Lee Myung Bak and Park Geun Hye, recruited me. He said he only had to do a few months when he lured me, but all of a sudden, President Park Geun Hye was elected," he said, conveying the story of entering politics.

However, soon after the video was released, the production team changed the video to private after critics pointed out whether it is right for politicians to appear on YouTube channels and there was opposition to some of Lee's remarks.

Lee Joon-seok made headlines in July by appearing as a surprise guest on the MBN entertainment program "Let's Go Go" and revealing his residence for the first time on the show, revealing the salary of a lawmaker. According to the "2024 National Assembly Allowance and other payment standards" announced by the National Assembly Secretariat, the annual salary of lawmakers this year is about 157 million won before tax. This is a 1.7% (about 3 million won) increase from last year (about 154 million won). Specifically, it includes 7,079,000 won per month for general allowance, 637,190 won for management work, 15,575,780 won for bonuses, 8,495,880 won for holiday vacation, 3,136,000 won for legislative activities, and 784,000 won for special activities.
