The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 12th (local time) that it signed the "Korea-Italian Co-operative Business Agreement (MOU)" in Rome, Italy, and held a seminar on the 11th (local time). It is part of a follow-up performance project that emphasized the need for cooperation between small and medium-sized businesses and cooperatives of the two countries during the visit of Italian Prime Minister Jorja Meloni in January.
Italy is known as a country with a cooperative-oriented regional economy and a development of a small and medium-sized business growth ecosystem. In particular, the Emilia-Romagna region is considered a representative success story of cooperative-based industrial clusters.
The Federation of Small and Medium Business, the Italian Federation of Small and Medium Business (CONFAPI) and the Cooperative Federation (LEGACOOP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) respectively and decided to promote △ business linkage between SMEs and cooperatives in both countries, △ exchange policies and information related to cooperatives, and △ sharing market information.
Noh Yong-seok, the first vice minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "We will continue to expand support to small and medium-sized companies and cooperatives to create new opportunities in the global market."
