According to a survey, the average daily salary (per day) of production workers at small and medium-sized companies was counted as 120,610 won this year.

According to the "Wages Survey by Job in the First Half of 2026" conducted by the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses on the 29th on 1,500 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies and 129 occupations, the average daily salary of small and medium-sized manufacturing production workers as of March this year was 120,610 won. This is up 5.8% from 114,007 won in the first half of last year (as of March) and 5.2% from 114,682 won in the second half (as of August 2025).

In terms of wages, chemical engineering quality managers were the highest at 174,040 won, followed by electrical, electronic and mechanical quality managers (166,228 won) and metal material quality managers (164,926 won). Shoe maker operators were the lowest at 87,798 won.

The average daily wage of simple labor workers by major occupations was 95,767 won, up 5.6% from 96,994 won last year, while the work team leader (147,122 won) and parts assembly workers (110,36) rose 5.3% and 4.5%, respectively.

The survey was conducted on small and medium-sized manufacturers with sales of 3 billion won and more than 10 full-time workers from March 1 to 31 this year. The subjects of the survey were full-time production workers who worked for more than a month, and daily workers (helpers, daily workers, etc.), short-time workers (part-time workers, etc.), and industrial functional workers were excluded from the survey.

The announced investigation wages will be applied as a unit price based on labor costs for contracts with the state as parties from July 1 of this year, and the survey results report, such as detailed investigation wages and commentary by job type, can be found on the website of the Korea Federation of SMEs.
