On the 30th, Loensurgical, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based kidney stone surgical robot company, announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sobato, an American remote surgery platform company, to jointly promote remote surgery integration.
The two companies agreed to combine RoenSurgical's precision surgical robot technology with Sobato's teleoperation network platform to seek safe and scalable teleoperation implementation. Starting with a joint technology review, it plans to promote subsequent integrated contracts and commercialization for network and platform integration.
Loensurgical plans to use Sobato's clinical network and experience in entering the market in the United States to prepare for the entry into global markets, including the United States, step by step. In addition, the two companies will also seek software-oriented cooperation models such as AI surgery assistance and medical staff training simulations based on remote surgery data accumulated during the cooperation process. Kwon Dong-soo, CEO of Law Environmental, said, "We will increase the safety and accessibility of remote surgery by combining the technologies and experiences of both companies."
Zamenix, an AI-based kidney stone surgical robot designated as the 17th innovative medical device in 2021, completed clinical trials of innovative medical technology in March this year and has been introduced to 19 hospitals in Korea and one institution abroad so far. Currently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is in the process of licensing.
