Provide 50,000 won coupon for new subscription
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business announced on the 1st that it will reorganize the yellow umbrella installment payment system that supports small business owners' living stability and retirement preparations, expanding the installment payment limit from 12 million won to 18 million won per year.
The reorganization is in accordance with the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Restriction of Special Taxation Act, and the payment limit will be expanded from up to 1 million won per month (3 million won per quarter) to up to 1.5 million won per month (18 million won per year). An official from the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Businesses said, "The savings function for small business owners will be further strengthened."
For example, even if you newly sign up for the yellow umbrella in December, you can pay the contract amount (1.5 million won) within the monthly limit of the subscription and pay up to 18 million won additionally, so you can receive sufficient income deductions for the year. For example, new subscribers who joined in July can make additional payments at any time within the limit of 18 million won after paying the contract amount by December.
From the third quarter of 2026, the interest rate applied to receiving deductions for reasons such as old age will be 3.4%, up 0.2 percentage points from the second quarter (3.2%). In particular, when receiving deductions due to business closure or death, an interest rate of 3.7%, 0.3%p higher than the old-age deduction, is applied.
Yellow Umbrella is a deduction system operated by the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business since 2007, and is a representative social safety net for small businesses and small businesses with more than 1.9 million registered subscribers as of June 2026. It is advantageous to raise a large amount of money as annual compound interest is applied to the paid principal as well as income deduction benefits (up to 6 million won per year) when subscribing to the yellow umbrella.
The Korea Federation of SMEs will hold a "Yellow Umbrella Online Subscription Promotion" for a month in July. Until the 30th, small businesses and small business owners who have newly subscribed through the Yellow Umbrella website or mobile will be provided with complex mobile coupons (KRW 50,000) that can be used on Naver and Kakao Pay.
Lee Chang-ho, head of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business Mutual Aid Project, said, "The reform of the system focused on making small business owners more flexible in line with their management situations and more convenient to enjoy year-end income deductions. We will continue to improve the system so that the yellow umbrella can be a strong support for small business owners in the future."
