Otech Carrier, an energy solution company, announced on the 2nd that it will mass-produce home heat pump boilers at factories in Gwangju Metropolitan City. Otech Carrier is planning to target the domestic heating and electrification market, which aims to utilize low-carbon and high-efficiency energy.

The Otech Carrier Gwangju plant is about 93,600 square meters and is a key production base for Otech Carrier, which produces various air conditioning products such as home air conditioners, commercial air conditioners, and industrial air conditioning solutions. Based on the accumulated manufacturing technology and quality management know-how, the mass production of home heat pump boilers will expand the production portfolio and strengthen the production capacity of eco-friendly energy solutions.

Otech Carrier's heat pump boiler, which will be introduced this time, is an "Air to Water" heat pump-based heating system that utilizes natural air heat, and is characterized by floor heating and hot water supply functions as a single system. Medium temperature water of up to 65℃ can be stably supplied, sufficiently replacing existing gas boilers. In addition, energy efficiency was maximized by applying high-efficiency refrigeration cycle technology and inverter control technology.

Otech Carrier has focused on developing heat pump technology since before the government's carbon neutrality policy and renewable energy expansion policy began in earnest. It developed an inverter hybrid boiler in 2011 and succeeded in commercialization in 2014. Since then, he has accumulated technology and various field operation know-how by participating in KEPCO's heat storage heat pump boiler supply project.

Based on this technology and experience in carrying out the project, he was selected as a business operator for a project to support small businesses' high-efficiency devices promoted by the Korea Energy Agency in May. Otack Carrier plans to supply and install high-temperature water heat pump boilers and large-capacity heat pump chiller.

"The launch of mass production will be an important turning point in responding to the demand for electrification of heating based on the heat pump technology and field experience that Otech Carrier has accumulated for more than 10 years," an official at Otech Carrier said. "We will lead the era of energy transformation based on accumulated technology and eco-friendly energy solution capabilities."
