Seventeen cooperative organizations and the government gathered in one place to ease regulations on new industries.
On the 22nd, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it held an on-site meeting with start-up organizations and industry associations at the start-up venture campus Seoul (SVC Seoul) in Mapo-gu, Seoul to discover and resolve regulations related to start-ups in new industries.
Seventeen organizations, including the Korea Startup Forum, the Korea Association of Venture Businesses, the Korea Self-Driving Industry Association, the Korea Smart Data Association, the Korea AI and Robot Industry Association, the Korea Climate Tech Association, and the Korea Pharmaceutical Bio Association, participated in the event to sign a business agreement to discover and resolve start-up regulations in new industries.
In accordance with the agreement, each institution will jointly cooperate in ▲ investigation and regulation discovery of regulations and difficulties in new industries, ▲ public debate to resolve regulations and suggestions from related ministries ▲ collaboration to respond to regulations by each institution and discover and discuss difficulties in new industries.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to establish and operate cooperative and collective communication channels to discover and quickly improve unreasonable regulations that hinder the innovation and growth of small and medium-sized venture companies.
Roh Yong-seok, the first vice minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "Technology in new industries such as artificial intelligence and autonomous driving is rapidly developing, but existing systems and regulations are not sufficiently keeping up with the pace of change. We will find regulatory difficulties based on public-private cooperation with related ministries and actively promote regulatory rationalization through government-wide cooperation."
