Korean Committee for UNICEF announced that it will operate the ‘Graffiti Welcome Playground’ at the UNICEF Mamkkeot Garden in Seoul Children's Grand Park from April 11 to June 30. The playground was designed to promote the joy and importance of play through free drawing, based on Article 31 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which states that every child has the right to rest and play.

The Graffiti Welcome Playground is divided into three zones. It includes a ‘Free Drawing Zone’ where children can unleash their imagination, a ‘Right to Play Campaign Zone’ that highlights the importance of the right to play, and a ‘Photo Zone’ featuring a large balloon of the character JOGUMAN.

This campaign is being carried out through the talent donation and design collaboration of the popular character brand JOGUMAN. Jo Mijin, secretary-general of the Korean Committee for UNICEF, explained, “This Graffiti Welcome Playground was created as a space to experience the joy and meaning of play while remembering children around the world who cannot enjoy their right to play because of conflict and disasters.”

UNICEF is the only organization explicitly mentioned in the Convention on the Rights of the Child as having a role in promoting children's rights. As a United Nations agency, it carries out programs in health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education, protection, and emergency relief for children around the world. The Korean Committee for UNICEF works to promote children's rights in Korea through fundraising for children worldwide and initiatives to build child-friendly communities.
