A total of 100 families took part in a cooking competition using local ingredients at the Busan Cinema Center. Ottogi Corporation said it successfully wrapped up the 29th Sweet Home Ottogi Family Cooking Festival, held on April 25 in Busan. The competition was held under the theme, "A Busan-style Sweet Home menu created by Busan's signature ingredients and Ottogi," and featured 100 families selected from across the country.

A panel of eight judges, including three Michelin One Star chefs, evaluated the competition. The judges, who came from various culinary fields including Korean, Western, Japanese and Chinese cuisine, assessed the participants' menu quality and creativity from multiple angles.

The Ottogi Award went to the Choi Seon-mi family for presenting "Busan-si Ottogi Port," and they received a prize of 5 million won. Their winning dishes included "Gijang Seaweed and Fish Cake Cream Pasta," made with Ottogi cream soup as a pasta sauce and finished with Gijang County seaweed and Busan fish cake; "Ottogi Meatball Rice Cake Skewers," made with Daejeo tomato, meatballs, rice cakes and cheese; and "Starfish Sweet Ramen Snack," made with Ppushu Ppushu.

Two teams that won the Sweet Home Award each received 2 million won, while three teams that won the Family Cooking Award were given 1 million won in Ottogi Mall mileage each. One team that won the Happy Moment Award received a Hong Kong travel voucher worth 3 million won, and five teams that won special awards each received 100,000 won in Ottogi Mall mileage. All participating families were also given a four-person KidZania admission ticket valid in Seoul and Busan, along with a welcome gift.

The venue also featured family-friendly hands-on programs and food booths. In addition to the cooking contest, a variety of interactive activities were prepared for families to enjoy. Game-style events using Ottogi products included the Yellows coloring playground, picture-finding games such as LIGHT&JOY, a lucky gacha, and an 8-second Jin Ramen stacking challenge. At the "Poonglim Food" and "Momos Coffee" booths, visitors were offered tastings and coffee and dessert exchange coupons, while the "Yellow Kitchen" served authentic Neapolitan pizza, "Five Formaggi Pizza," and "Original Hot Dog."

The festival, which began in 1996, has now reached its 29th edition and has drawn more than 3,600 families, or about 13,500 people, to date. An Ottogi official said, "We are especially pleased to hold the Sweet Home Ottogi Family Cooking Festival in Busan this year, continuing a tradition that began in 1996," adding, "We will continue to expand our contact points with customers through a variety of programs that families can enjoy together."
